Books and their Movie adaptations

The book is a film that takes place in the mind of the reader.
Thats why we go the movies and say, "oh, the book is better."

Debate on this topic is on for years now. If someone would have asked me this some time ago I would have undoubtedly chosen book, every reader does. But with time I started believing that books and movies are completely different mediums, but serving same purpose.

When you read a book you set your imagination free. You create characters, events, backgrounds in it.

By default your mind will create things that is best from your perception.

But when you see the film, you are actually seeing someone else's (or director's) perception on screen.

And let's face it we will always like our perception more.

It's not even our fault, we are humans and that's human nature!

Also due to time limitation, movies fast forward the story, but in books we take our time.

Along with fast forwarding many times they change the story line or switch up the characters or change the ending, and readers find that disappointing.

But this goes for movies as well, there are things books could never do. 

Books can never spread an idea as widely as movie does.

Movies restores interest in the book, they help you get a new perspective of the book.

It brings the book back into conversation.

Even if movie makers are changing something to get more viewers, you can't blame them for doing so. 

They are into commercial world, they are trying to make money, who isn't?

According to some people we should not even compare these two, as they are completely different worlds, but I guess we can never resist ourselves from doing that.

So yeah as said by J.W. Eagan (do you know him?!*)"never judge a book by its movie."
